Next up at the speedway is a 5 division show Friday night consisting of Miller Auto Parts Super Late Models, Bedford Valley Petroleum Limited Late Models, TC Race Cars Street Stocks, Ritchey Sandblasting Hobby Stocks, and Thomas Chevrolet FWD 4 Cylinders. The Hobby Stocks will be racing a special double purse feature! Gates open at 5pm, with hot laps at 7pm.

Looking ahead on the schedule, the Sunday, May 25th show will now be MACS sanctioned. More news to follow regarding this show...

Rainchecks from the Lucas Oil 25th show will only be honored on July 31st as of now.  These particular rainchecks can not be used for any other date.  The raindate will be July 31st. Do not lose your raincheck or  wristbands.  They can not be used for any other date.

There is no All-Star Circuit of Champions race at Bedford on May 11th, as indicated on the ASCoC website. The race was never scheduled. In fact, the All-Stars management and Bedford's management never agreed or talked about possibly having a race in the 2008 season. The incorrect information on the All-Stars website is an apparent oversight.

McCLELLAN WINS LIMITED SPECIAL, HAUS BACK ON TRACK IN SUPERS

By Dave Harclerode

BEDFORD, PA -  It was a perfect evening for racing Friday at the Bedford Speedway, and the racing action was just as good as the racing surface.  Scott Haus took top honors in the Miller Auto Parts Super Late Models, and Chad McCllellan won his first ever Bedford Valley Petroleum Limited Late Model feature.  Bob Jay won by a fender in the TC Race Cars Street Stocks, Derrick Hinish won a thriller in the Ritchey Sandblasting Hobby Stocks, and Mike Lauffer became the track's first repeat winner by winning the Thomas Chevrolet front wheel drive 4 cylinder feature.

CHECK OUT THE NEW FORD MUSTANG PACE CAR

Located in Bedford, Pennsylvania, the Bedford Speedway is the oldest active dirt track in the state.  Its first race was on September 4th, 1936, and the AAA sanctioned sprint car race was won by Billy Winn. Since that first race, the track has operated nearly every year for the past 71 years.  Some of the greatest names in the history of auto racing have competed, attended, or worked at the historic site.  Mario Andretti, Chris Economaki, Ted Horn, Duane Carter, Bill Wimble, Johnny Parsons, and Paul Russo are a just a few.  Bedford was once part of the road to Indy, with AAA and URC sprint car racing dominating the scene for much of Bedford's early days.  The famed 30x90 super modifieds and sprint cars were the attraction in the sixties and early seventies.  Stockcar racing became the weekly attraction in 1974, and continues to this day.  Currently, Bedford is considered one of the premiere race tracks in the area, with Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks competing every Friday night.  Several special events are held each season, including the MACS Super Late Models, the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars, and the PA Sprint Car Speedweek Series.  Bedford Speedway has been, and will continue to be an important phase in one of this nation’s most exciting and prolific sports.
